Pastel de Papas is a great comfort food dish from Chili. Be sure to buy grass fed beef for the beef.

- 2 large potatoes
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 16 ounce Beef, ground, 70% lean meat / 30% fat, raw
- 1 medium onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 teaspoon cayenne
- 1 teaspoon allspice
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- Pinch of salt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 3 oz goat cheese
- 2 large eggs
Recipe
Pre heat oven to 375
Heat up pan with water. When water boils add chopped potatoes and bring to a boil. Boil for 10 minutes and then pour all water out and set aside pan.
Heat up pan. Add the olive oil. When oil is hot add the onions and garlic. Sauté for a few minutes. Add the ground beef and with a fork break it up. Add the spices and tomato sauce. Cook until the beef is cooked.
Add 1 tablespoon butter and the eggs to the potato mixture. With a potato masher mask the potatoes until they are creamy. Add salt and pepper.
In a casserole pan place 1/2 of the potato mixture in bottom of dish. Spread to cover the disk. Spread 1/2 of the meat mixture on top of the potato mixture.
Repeat the same for the next layers. Grate the cheese and place on top.
