Shiro is a stew whose primary ingredient is chickpea flour. It ’s quite good and high in protein. It ’s usually served with injera. |
Ingredients
- 1 cup chickpea flour
- 5 cups water
- 1 medium diced onion
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoons diced garlic
- 3 teaspoons Berbere
- 1 dash salt
Recipe
Sauté in olive oil the onions and garlic. When they are golden brown add your Berbere and cook for one minute. Add your water. With a whisk gradually add your chick pea mixture. Stir constantly and cook until the mixture turns into a mush. Take off heat and add your salt and pepper.
