Ingredients

  • 2 cup American cheese  shredded fine
  • 1/2 cup half-and-half milk
  • 2 tablespoons onions diced
  • 4 teaspoons ground cumin
  • dash of salt
  • 1/2 whole diced jalapeno pepper
 

 

Instructions

Combine all ingredients into a double boiler. When mixture is melted simmer for one more minute and take off heat.
Serve with taco chips.

 

Comments

I first was exposed to Tex-Mex cuisine while living in Miami Beach. Gourmet magazine did an article on this cuisine. I was impressed by the diversity. This recipe is one variation on the classic dish Queso.
