Ingredients

  • 1 item  hamburger
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground oregano
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon allspice
  • dash of salt
  • 1/8 tablespoon honey
  • 16 oz Puff pastry, frozen, ready-to-bake
  • 2 medium eggs
  • 1/8 cup water

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350.
Combine in skillet ground beef, cumin, oregano, cinnamon, allspice, salt, honey and cook over medium to low heat for 15 minutes or until done.
To assemble: Take thawed cold puff pastry (warning: don’t leave this out for too long or you can’t unfold it). Open each pastry packet up and cut each packet on the 3 seams lengthwise making three sections from each packet. Spread the meat mixture on half (3 sections) of the puff pastry and cover with the remaining three sections. You will have 3 complete strips when you are done. Mix the beaten eggs with 1 Tablespoon of water and brush on the top of the pastry. Bake in 350 oven for 30 minutes.

The spices and pastry makes this dish a real treat. My friend George introduced me to this recipe.
