Ingredients

 
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 large red onion
  • 7 leaves curry leaves
  • 1/4 tablespoon ghee
  • dash of salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
 

Instructions

Sauté in ghee on a high flame cumin seeds, mustard seeds and 7 curry leaves. Cook until golden brown. Add onions. Turn down heat and simmer on low for 45 minutes. Stir occasionally.
Add salt and black pepper to taste.  
 
 

Comments

A dear friend named Anna made this dish for me many moons ago in Canada. I love to slow cook the onions so the flavors really come out.
