Ingredients

  • 1 diced salmon fillet
  • 1/2 diced fine large red onion
  • 1 stalk diced green onion
  • 1 whole Lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon diced fine fresh ginger
  • 1 whole diced fine green chili
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 whole avocado
  • 1 cup mangos
  • salt to taste
Kecap manis sauce
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3 teaspoons palm sugar(optional)
  • 1/2 cup tamari
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • 2 leaves curry leaves
  • 4 teaspoons galangal root
  • 1 teaspoon star anise

Instructions

Combine all ingredients (including premade Kecap manis sauce - see recipe below) except for the mango and avocado into a glass bowl.
Place in fridge for at least 4 hours. Add the mango and avocado. Serve.
 
Kecap manis sauce
 
Heat up saucepan with the brown sugar. When brown sugar melts add the palm sugar and let it melt. Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer on low for 15 minutes. Take out the galangal root and curry leaves and let the sauce cool. Put into a bottle and place in fridge until you are ready to use it.

Comments

This is an Indonesian version of Ceviche. It is a great dish.
