Ingredients

  • 1 bunch Broccoli cut up
  • 1 tablespoon coconut Oil
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/8 teaspoon Asafotida(hing)
  • 2 cloves garlic diced fine
  • 1 whole jalapeno pepper diced fine
  • salt to taste
Chickpea mixture
  • 1/3 cup chickpea flour
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon mango powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon  cayenne
  • 1/2 whole lime juice
 

Instructions

Heat up pan. When pan is hot add the coconut oil. When oil is hot add the cumin seeds, hing, jalapeno pepper and garlic. Sauté until garlic is golden brown. Add the broccoli and a dash of water. Cover and cook for around 4 minutes.
While broccoli is cooking add all ingredients for the chickpea mixture into a bowl and mix thoroughly.
When broccoli is cooked sprinkle the chickpea mixture over the broccoli. Do not stir. Turn down heat and simmer for around 4 minutes.
 

Comments

This is one of my favorite ways of cooking broccolii. It is done Southern Indian style.
