Ingredients

  • 3 cups poha (flattened rice)
  • 4 oz coconut flakes
  • 1 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/8 teaspoon ginger powder
  • 1/8 cup moong dal (find at indian or international market)
  • 2 tablespoons ghee
  • 1 cup water
  •  teaspoons Jaggery (find at indian or international market)
  • 1/4 cup cashews
  • 1/4 cup raisins

Instructions

In dry skillet sauté poha for around 5 minutes. Do not burn it.
Pour poha into a glass bowl and set aside.
Add coconut flakes to skillet. Stir until coconut flakes turn golden brown. Take off burner and add to glass bowl.
Cook the cumin seeds the same way. Toast them and add them to the glass bowl.
In same skillet add water and jaggery. Bring to boil and cook for around 5 to 10 minutes. The sauce should thicken a little.
Add sauce to glass bowl. Add the ginger powder, cashews, raisins and ghee.
Stir. Let the mixture cool and then store in an air tight container or bag.
