Ingredients

  • 1 cup Rice, white, long-grain, parboiled, enriched, dry
  • 5 cups water
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  •  2/3 cup white sugar or 2/3 cup honey

Instructions

Blend water and rice in blender until rice is pulverized. Let mixture stand at room temperature for a minimum of 3 hours.
Strain mixture into a picture and discard the rice.
Stir the milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and sugar into the rice water. Chill and stir before serving over ice.
 
 
 

Comments

When I lived in Mexico and Southern California I would love to drink this after a day of surfing. Oxnard had a hole in the wall restaurant that would serve this and they also had the best chile relleno burrito in the world.
