Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • 2 cups basmati rice
  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon coriander seed
  • 3 leaves curry leaves
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro
  • 1 cup garbanzo beans
  • 1/2 cup Pomegranates
  • 1 1/2 cups yogurt
 

Instructions

 
Wash the rice. Add water to pan. Bring to a boil.
When water boils, add the rice. Cook for 20 minutes on a low heat.
 
When rice is done take off burner.
 
Heat up skillet. When skillet is hot add the olive oil. When oil is hot add the mustard seeds, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, curry leaves. Sauté until seeds pop the add garlic and onions. Sauté until onions are golden brown.
 
Add the garbanzo beans and yogurt.
 
Open up pomegranate and remove seeds. Juice will come with the seeds when seeds are removed. Add the pomegranate seeds with juice. Stir lightly.
 
Serve on a serving plate.
